Bringing Value to Health Care Decisions
Cost is important. So is quality care. MN Community Measurement’s work to measure and report on the total cost of care helps you compare and choose health care based on value – balancing quality and outcomes with the overall cost. MNCM also shares information on the average costs of over 100 different medical procedures, tests and services.
Total cost of care and public reporting
MN Community Measurement collects and reports cost data for medical groups based on 1.5 million patients. Our results represent the $8 billion in total care costs paid by both patients and their health insurance plans last year. The four Minnesota health plans that provided cost data to MNCM are Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, HealthPartners, Medica and PreferredOne. They have the largest commercially-insured member populations in Minnesota and their data provide a strong foundation to measure and report on the cost of care.
